Ola! Barcelona!

Hey friends and family, having the best time in Spain!

Loving this city! We drove ten hours from France to get here and after a quick dinner and shower we figured out we were here at the same time the San Juan festival was on the beach. So we walked to the metro and caught the train. On our way, I'm not kidding I thought people were getting shot or bombed, it literally sounded like we were in a war. But it was people throwing around fireworks - or throwing them at us!

The closer to the city it started to get even more intense and here is our group jumping and screaming and the local kids setting fireworks off in the middle of the street not scared at all.

Not to mention on the metro I nearly got pick pocketed from a man. I caught him with his hand half in my bag under his jacket to hide it..... Looked up at him, and he goes "oh sorry!!"

Obviously I've been paranoid ever since that! Anyway.....this festival was crazy fun! Djs everywhere set up on the beach, open bars with free pour alcohol, dancing, bonfires and fireworks everywhere! I only stayed for a bit and headed back for some early sight seeing and shopping today.

Some of the awesome monuments we seen here in Barcelona are all abstract surreal buildings or artwork.

The main attraction was the Sagrada Familia basilica which was designed by Antoni Gaudi in 1883. He died in 1920 and it's STILL being constructed! They say Spanish people are very laid back and don't rush and things, it's also said it will take another 80 years to complete.

The architecture is amazing and is a mixture of nature and Gothic style sculptures and carvings. One of my favorite sights so far!

After that we went to try traditional Spanish tapas for lunch and check out the shopping! Safe to say I have eaten so much while on tour it's pretty hard to taste a whole cuisine in two lunches so you can imagine there's been some serious sampling going on.

Already on to Day 6, and heading to French Riviera tomorrow!
Hope you enjoying my travels

Love you all xx
